Glendale, California– December, 2012– The Los Angeles office of PKF California and Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP, certified public accounting firms, are joining together as of December 1, 2012.  The combination will enable the firms to provide better service to their clients in a wider array of disciplines.  The combined firm will operate under the name Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP.

Hutchinson and Bloodgood and PKF are both members of the PKF North American network and the PKF International network and the combined firm will continue their membership in the PKF networks.  PKF International is a worldwide network of legally independent accounting firms with 300 member firms and correspondents in 440 locations in 125 countries.

“This blend of talent and expertise will present our clients with more of what they’ve always looked to us for – trusted advice and timely, quality service,” said Peter Weir, Partner in Charge of Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP.  “We also share a client-centered approach where the clients’ goals and expectations drive the delivery of our services,” Weir noted.

PKF Los Angeles Directors Mark Hennelly and Rex Poulsen noted that their clients will now be able to access an expanded menu of services and resources to assist them in solving their most complex business problems while continuing to receive the exceptional service they are accustomed to.  PKF, a leader in the Hospitality and Leisure services industry, will add a valuable industry resource to the firm.

Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP, founded in 1922, is a full service accounting firm that provides traditional audit, accounting, and tax services along with a range of advisory services including strategic planning, succession planning, estate planning, tax credits and incentives, cost segregation, information technology planning, litigation support, and business valuations.

Rex has been a CPA since 1976 and has practiced public accounting for more than 35 years for a diverse clientele of privately and publicly-held companies where he has provided accounting and auditing services to non-profit entities, manufacturers, international businesses, real estate and hospitality companies.

Rex's areas of expertise include audits, operational reviews and analysis, internal control consulting, litigation support/expert witness assignments and forensic accounting. He has significant experience in auditing the financial statements of publicly-held companies in accordance with PCAOB standards.

Prior to joining Hutchinson and Bloodgood, LLP, Rex was most recently an officer/shareholder with PKF California for over 20 years, and has also held positions with two national CPA firms.

Rex holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs.

Rex and his wife live in Altadena with their three small dogs and make frequent trips to Orange County to spend time with their two grandchildren.  He is an avid treadmill runner.


Mark has more than 29 years of accounting, auditing, and business advisory experience, serving privately held companies in the emerging and middle markets as well as non-profit entities.    Mark provides clients with innovative financial advice that includes working with them to structure their companies for growth and provides hands-on experience that enables him to be recognized as a value added advisor.

Mark provides assurance and consulting services within the hospitality industry, entertainment industry and services on behalf of non-profit entities.  In addition to traditional accounting and assurance services major projects includes operational reviews and analyses; budget policy and procedure reviews; internal control consulting and regulatory compliance.

Mark also provides royalty, residual, forensic and other specialized accounting services for entertainment industry clients.  This includes residual audits on behalf of various entertainment industry associations and Guilds.

Mark holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from California State University, Northridge. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs.  Mark is also a member of the Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP).


Georgette began her career in private industry with a Beverly Hills property management firm. She has been in public accounting for 14 years with experience in both audits and taxation. Georgette’s prior experiences includes positions at both a “Big 4” international CPA firm and a regional CPA firm in Los Angeles.

Georgette's specific areas of expertise include individual, partnership and corporate tax returns, including consolidated and multistate tax returns, ranging from closely held to domestic and international companies.

Georgette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Loyola Marymount University and a Masters in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs.
